Group of Computing Applications in the Area of Optics and Optometry.
Optica-App is a group of calculation applications in the area of optics and optometry. It presents several applications highlighting the calculation of lens thickness.
It is prepared by a server (optical and developer) and the calculation needs that occur in the optics and optometry task have been taken into account.
This application serves to calculate, but also to show or explain to customers or patients some concepts that can be difficult to represent. This is an added value in the relationship with customers.
The application consists of 5 calculation applications:
1. Transposed: Calculate the transposition of the spherocylindric formula and also represents the optical cross with the disposition of the powers. Image of interest in the explanation to customers how their prescription is available in 2D.
2. Distometry: Performs the calculation of spherical and/or toric powers depending on the vertex distance (lens-label distance). We get 3 results:
2. 1. Exact calculation
2. 2. Calculation in negative cylinder and in 0.25d steps for the lentilla order.
2. 3. Calculation of the spherical equivalent.
3. Overcorrection in toric lentilla considering its turn.
4. Addition: calculates the theoretical addition of a person depending on the work distance and age. We can choose 2 different distances to compare.
5. Lenses thickness*: We get the thickness edge and center at the main points of the lens. Of great help to advise customers in decision making regarding what type of lens choosing as a good sale argument.
It has followers functionalities:
5.1. Comparison between 2 materials (refraction indexes).
5.2. Consideration of the diameter, important in the thickness of positive lenses.
5.3. Precalibrated option for paste, metal, ranking and air mounts.
In this application, special care has been taken in user use and experience being easy and quick to use. It also includes information about each application.
(Leints thickness*: The calculations they perform are approximate and do not take into account the curvature of the lens and other parameters that lens suppliers can offer. For the exact calculation it is necessary to use the programs of the lens suppliers.)
